Three Crowns recently awarded Christopher Awodimila, a lawyer from Nigeria, the Jan Paulsson Scholarship.
Christopher is attending the Geneva Center for International Dispute Settlement’s LL.M. programme for the 2022-2023 academic year. On receiving the scholarship, Christopher said, “I feel honoured to have been selected as this year’s recipient of the Jan Paulsson Scholarship sponsored by Three Crowns LLP. My dream to attend the MIDS started in January 2020 from reading the brochure for the MIDS 2020-2021 session. I look forward to attending the programme commencing in September 2022. At the conclusion of my programme, I hope to return to the arbitration community, especially Africa, and contribute my quota to its growth and development”.
Three Crowns partner Georgios Petrochilos KC stated, “we are proud to support Christopher in this next step in his journey as an arbitration practitioner. We have no doubt that MIDS will help him in achieving his goals and we are delighted to continue our association with them”.
The scholarship honours the extraordinary legacy of Jan Paulsson, one of Three Crown’s founding partners, and his steadfast commitment to the mentorship and training of junior practitioners. It provides substantial financial assistance to a promising LL.M. applicant at the Geneva Center for International Dispute Settlement. To be eligible for the scholarship, a candidate must be a national of a developing economy who is able to demonstrate financial need. To find out more about the scholarship, click here.
