Three Crowns, the global arbitration law firm, is pleased to announce the promotions of Nicola Peart and Rudolf Simone-Pont.
Nicola Peart has been promoted to International Counsel in the Washington, DC office. Since joining the firm in 2015, Nicola has represented States, international organisations, and private clients in proceedings before a wide range of international courts and tribunals. She has also appeared in the English courts on arbitration-related matters, including the UK Supreme Court.
Nicola’s experience includes complex, high-value commercial matters involving energy, intellectual property, patent licensing, joint ventures, litigation funding, fraud and corruption. She was part of the team that secured a multimillion-dollar UNCITRAL award on behalf of Elliott Associates against the Republic of Korea, and she represented the Republic of Vanuatu before the International Court of Justice in proceedings concerning the Legal Consequences of the Separation of the Chagos Islands from Mauritius in 1965. Nicola also led a team advising the UN Environment Programme in proceedings before the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea concerning a request for an advisory opinion submitted by the Commission of Small Island States on Climate Change and International Law. In 2020, she was appointed Legal Secretary to the International Tennis Federation Ethics Commission and has since led numerous investigations into ethical complaints in sport.

Rudolf Simone-Pont has been promoted to Counsel in the Paris office. Rudolf has a BA from Yale and a BA in Law from Oxford. He has represented clients in international arbitrations conducted under all major arbitration rules. His practice focuses on complex high-value commercial and investment disputes across a broad range of sectors, with a focus on energy and financial services. He has acted for private parties and States, including Croatia, Ukraine and Latvia. Rudolf also has experience with proceedings for the annulment and enforcement of arbitral awards, as well as advising clients on the renegotiation of bilateral investment treaties. Rudolf is qualified in England & Wales and France.
