Nicola Peart appointed as member of the IBA’s under-40 arbitration subcommittee

News 9th November 2020

Nicola Peart, an associate in the Washington, DC office of Three Crowns, has been appointed as a member of the International Bar Association’s under-40 arbitration subcommittee, the IBA Arb 40. She will serve on the committee for a two-year term with the option for a further two years.

ABOUT IBA Arb 40

The IBA Arb 40 was established for younger arbitrators aged 40 or below who focus on thought leadership for the next generation of arbitration practitioners. Since 2015, the IBA Arb 40 has produced reports on the state of arbitration and its prospects in different regions; a tool kit for award writing for young arbitrators; a compendium of arbitration practice with suggested procedural improvements; and a guide to technology resources for young practitioners.

The group is currently updating the guide to technology resources to include a chapter on virtual hearing platforms, remote interpretation and translation services, and institutions’ remote services, all of which have taken on heightened importance due to COVID-19. It is also working on a project on ethics in international arbitration.
