Jonathan Fernandes will speak at a panel on “Alternative Dispute Resolution in Space”, as part of the Dispute Resolution in the Space Industry Conference 2025.
This panel will explore the role of ADR in settling space disputes, as legal conflicts arising from the expansion of space commerce and cooperation increase. In particular, Jonathan will share his insights on key trends in the arbitration of satellite-related disputes.
Jonathan will speak alongside Chris Newman (Professor, Northumbria Law School), David Sixsmith (Assistant Professor, Northumbria Law School), and Rachael O’Grady (Partner, Mayer Brown), with Ayten Dogan moderating the discussion.
Hosted by Durham Law School, the Durham University Space Research Centre (SPARC), the Institute of Advanced Study, and the Durham International Dispute Resolution Institute, this conference provides a platform for legal, industry, and government experts to share essential insights on navigating the complexities of space law.
The conference will take place from 13 – 14 May at Durham University, with Jonathan’s panel to be held on Wednesday 14 May from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm.
