Three Crowns’ Jan Paulsson and Philipp Kotlaba have been appointed to the inaugural Disciplinary Tribunal of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), the world governing body for Athletics.
Named by the IAAF Council at its 2017 annual meeting in Monaco, Paulsson and Kotlaba will sit as arbitrators tasked with hearing and deciding breaches, and imposing sanctions, under the international federation’s reformed Integrity Code of Conduct. Decisions of the Tribunal will be published, with a right of appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The Disciplinary Tribunal assumes the functions of the IAAF Ethics Board and is chaired by Michael Beloff QC. Members will serve initially until the conclusion of the 2019 IAAF Congress in late September 2019.
