Philipp specializes in international arbitration and public international law. He has served as a tribunal secretary in twenty arbitrations, most recently at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and is a member of the inaugural Disciplinary Tribunal of the IAAF, the world governing body for athletics.
Prior to joining Three Crowns, Philipp clerked at the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, the Netherlands, where he assisted arbitral tribunals on major investor- and inter-State disputes, including arbitrations relating to natural resources, maritime and land boundaries, infrastructure, and the law of the sea. He previously worked in the Washington, D.C. and Prague offices of leading international law firms.
Philipp obtained his J.D. from Yale Law School, where he served as an editor on the Yale Law Journal, managing editor for the Yale Journal of International Law, and co-president of the Yale Society of International Law. He received B.A. degrees (international relations and German) and a B.S. (psychology), summa cum laude, from Virginia Tech.
