Gaëtan Verhoosel appointed senior Co-Chair of the IBA Arbitration Committee

During its annual conference, which this year took place in Seoul, the International Bar Association (IBA) appointed Three Crowns partner Gaëtan Verhoosel as Senior Co-Chair of the Arbitration Committee for 2020.  Gaëtan began his term as Co-Chair in 2019, having previously served as Senior Vice-Chair of the Committee and the Chair of its Subcommittee on Investment Arbitration.

In addition, Reza Mohtashami QC has been elected as a Vice-Chair of the Committee.  Reza was most recently Chair of the Subcommittee on Investment Arbitration.

The IBA Arbitration Committee, which has more than 3,000 members across the globe, has been a leading standard-setter for the practice of international arbitration worldwide, including the Rules on the Taking of Evidence in International Arbitration, the Guidelines on Conflicts of Interest in International Arbitration, and the Guidelines on Party Representation in International Arbitration.  The IBA Arbitration Committee also actively seeks to promote thought leadership, debate and dissemination of knowledge in the field of international arbitration through the organization of conferences, both global and regional.
