Anton Chaevitch and Ivan Philippov to speak at 2025 Central Asia–Pakistan Summer School on International Arbitration

Anton Chaevitch and Ivan Philippov will speak at the 2025 Central Asia–Pakistan Summer School on International Arbitration, organised by the Central Asia Vis Alumni Association with the assistance of the US Department of Commerce’s Commercial Law Development Programme (CLDP).

Their session, titled “Written Advocacy in International Arbitration,” will explore:

  • Style and structure of written submissions in arbitration
  • Strategic distinctions between Claimant and Respondent advocacy in the pleadings
  • Legal research and writing methodologies
  • Review and critique of sample submissions

The session will take place online via zoom on Monday, 7 July 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (GMT+5), 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM (BST) and 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM (EDT).

ABOUT ANTON CHAEVITCH

Anton is an associate in the Washington, DC office. He has experience in international commercial and investment arbitrations across a range of sectors, including petroleum and construction.  He has worked on ad hoc arbitrations and arbitrations under various institutional rules.  He also regularly provides legal support pro bono.

Prior to joining Three Crowns, Anton completed his Ph.D. at Harvard University, after clerking for the late Honorable Juan R. Torruella on the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

ABOUT IVAN PHILIPPOV

Ivan is an associate in the London office. He has extensive experience in advising States, State-owned entities, private corporations, and individuals in complex investor-State and commercial arbitrations under ICSID, ICSID Additional Facility, UNCITRAL, LCIA, SIAC and ICC rules. His practice spans a diverse range of industry sectors, with particular focus on oil and gas, mining, construction, transport, and financial services. Ivan has acted on matters involving clients and projects across Latin America, South and Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East.
