Three Crowns to host NAI40 panel on “Provisional Relief in the Dutch and English courts: Safeguarding Rights or Weaponising Procedure?”

Events 23rd October 2025

Three Crowns will co-host a panel with the NAI40 on the topic of “Provisional Relief in the Dutch and English courts: Safeguarding Rights or Weaponising Procedure?”, as part of the inaugural London Arbitration Week. The NAI40 is the young practitioners organisation of the Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI).

Pre-award attachments and other interim measures can be powerful tools to safeguard rights or assets pending resolution of an arbitration. This panel will explore how the Dutch and English courts approach provisional relief, from pre-award attachments to other interim measures, and when legitimate use can edge into abuse.

Annette Scholten will moderate a panel featuring Richard Trinick, Roelien Van Den Berg (Avizor Advocates & Arbitrators), James M. Turner KC (Quadrant Chambers), and Marieke Witkamp (Independent arbitrator & Dutch substitute judge).

The panel will take place on Tuesday 2 December at 2:00pm in the London office of Three Crowns, and will be followed by a networking drinks reception.
