Elliott is a senior associate in the London office. His practice focuses on representing governments, state-owned entities, and multinational corporations in international commercial and investment treaty arbitrations and other international disputes.

Elliott has represented clients in international arbitrations under most major arbitral rules and has experience of disputes across a range of sectors, including technology, pharmaceuticals, energy, and financial services.

Elliott has experience in commercial and public law litigation, having represented governmental and corporate clients in high value, complex and cross-border disputes in the English and New Zealand courts. Elliott also has public sector experience, having worked in the New Zealand Government (at the Crown Law Office) where he provided advice and representation to a range of departments and ministries.

Elliott obtained a Master of Laws from the London School of Economics, and he holds a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Auckland. Elliott is dual-qualified in England & Wales and New Zealand.

  • Acting for a Kurdish journalist’s claim against Turkey before the European Court of Human Rights and concerning complex admissibility issues and alleged breaches of the rights to liberty and security and freedom of expression
