Reza Mohtashami QC will act as Co-Chair with Yas Banifatemi and Can Yeginsu for GAR Connect: Eastern Mediterranean which, will take place on Thursday 24 June, and will moderate the session “Investment Arbitration: What’s the future of ISDS for the region?” at 11:40 am – 12:40 pm AT (BST +2). The session will review recent developments and hot topics regarding the legitimacy and reform of ISDS and investment arbitration claims that continue to proliferate in the Mediterranean region. The panel will discuss items such as the ICSID/UNCITRAL Code of Conduct for Adjudicators, securing third-party funding in a post-COVID environment, and environmental concerns in the new ISDS era.

As Co-Chair, Reza will also deliver the event’s opening and closing remarks.

ABOUT REZA MOHTASHAMI QC

Reza, a partner in the firm’s London office, has represented clients as counsel and advocate in more than 80 arbitrations conducted under a variety of arbitration rules in many different jurisdictions. He has particular expertise in disputes arising in emerging markets.
