Nicola Peart will be speaking on the panel “Converting Net Zero Ambitions into Net Zero Obligations” at London Climate Action Week on Friday 2 July at 3:00pm – 4:00pm (BST). The panel, which is hosted by the Net Zero Lawyers Alliance, will discuss the ways in which lawyers can be part of the transition from net zero ambitions to net zero obligations, as part of the Race to Zero Campaign. The panellists will also explore opportunities for cutting-edge new legal research and its impact in the emerging field of climate law.

ABOUT NICOLA PEART

Nicola, an associate in the Washington, DC office, practises in all aspects of international dispute resolution. Her experience includes international commercial and investment treaty arbitration, as well arbitration under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and proceedings before the International Court of Justice. She also advises and represents parties in arbitration-related court matters, including before the UK Supreme Court.

Nicola is a member of the International Bar Association’s under-40 arbitration sub-committee, ArbitralWomen, and the ICCA Task Force on Gender Diversity in International Arbitral Appointments and Proceedings. She also acts as Legal Secretary to the International Tennis Federation’s Ethics Commission. Nicola is highly regarded in the area of climate change and is regularly sought out by leaders to speak on this topic. She is part of the Campaign for Green Arbitrations’ Steering Committee, which has involved drafting a series of Green Protocols developed to help the international arbitration community to reduce their environmental footprint.
