Trey Childress participates in a meeting of the U.S. State Department’s Advisory Committee on Private International Law

Trey Childress participated in a meeting of the U.S. State Department’s Advisory Committee on Private International Law on Friday 3 June. The Committee, which advises the State Department on the practice of private international law, is composed of leading practitioners and scholars in the field. Among other matters, the Committee discussed the negotiation of multilateral instruments in the field of international arbitration and litigation and the treaty practice of the United States. Trey also serves on the U.S. State Department’s Advisory Committee on International Law, which advises the State Department on the practice of public international law.

ABOUT TREY CHILDRESS

Trey is Of Counsel based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. His practice focuses on international arbitration and litigation, public international law, and private international law (conflict of laws). Trey has briefed and argued cases as counsel before the International Court of Justice and courts throughout the United States, including the United States Supreme Court.  He has also consulted as an expert on various matters before international arbitral tribunals and courts outside of the United States. Trey is a tenured professor of law at the Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law, where his scholarship and teaching focuses on international arbitration and litigation.
