Three Crowns at the IBA’s Young Practitioners’ Symposium

Three Crowns is delighted to contribute to the IBA’s “Young Practitioner’s Symposium: diversity and efficiency in international arbitration” on Thursday 24 March at Ciragan Palace Kempinski, Istanbul, Turkey.

Hamid Abdulkareem is Co-Chair of the symposium, and will provide the welcome remarks, as well as coordinate the event on the day with Agnès Bizard of King & Spalding, IBA Arb40 Co-Chair.

Daryl Chew will feature as a panellist in the session, “Diversity in international arbitration”, in which the speakers will explore the key initiatives in the industry, the progress that has been made over the last decade, and the benefits to young practitioners and how they can make a play for space. The panel will take place from 2:30 – 3:30pm TRT.

Manish Aggarwal will moderate the “Innovation and promoting efficiency in international arbitration” panel in a Tylney Hall format, in which the speakers will address what institutions have been up to, developments in legal technology, and third party funding, amongst other interesting developments in innovation. The session will take place from 4:00 – 5:30pm TRT.

The symposium aims to bring young arbitration practitioners up-to-speed on initiatives in international arbitration aimed at promoting diversity and increasing the efficiency of the arbitral process.

ABOUT  DARYL CHEW

Daryl is the managing partner of the firm’s Singapore office. Manish, a partner in the London office, is a dual-qualified English solicitor and Indian advocate. ABOUT   HAMID ABDULKAREEM

Hamid, counsel in the London office, is an experienced arbitration practitioner and litigator, having regularly advised multinational companies on an extensive range of disputes. He is a current Co-Chair of the International Bar Association’s Insolvency and International Arbitration Working Group, the Young Africa Chair for the Institute for Transnational Arbitration, and a member of the Lagos Court of Arbitration’s Young Arbitrators Network’s Advisory Board. Hamid has been recognised in Who’s Who Legal: Future Leaders for Arbitration and as a National Leader for arbitration in Nigeria and is ranked in The Legal 500 for dispute resolution.
