Simon Consedine has written an article for Financier Worldwide as a part of their 2023 eBook “Managing and Resolving Commercial Disputes”.
Simon’s article is titled “Appointing Arbitrators – Commercial and Technical Expertise”.
The article suggests that it may be advisable to specify in arbitration clauses the qualifications that appointed arbitrators must possess. While generally, most disputes do not require specialist arbitrators, some disputes may be so commercially or technically complex that it may be ideal to compel the appointment of an appropriately qualified tribunal.
