Simon Consedine and Vamika Puri author article on mining disputes and the energy transition

News 11th December 2025

Three Crowns partner Simon Consedine and associate Vamika Puri have written an article examining the growing intersection between the energy transition and mining-related investment treaty disputes.

Titled “Investment Treaty Arbitration: The Paradox of the Energy Transition for Mining Disputes,” the piece explores how the shift toward renewable energy is accelerating global demand for critical minerals and contributing to a rise in treaty claims involving mining projects. It highlights emerging risk areas, regulatory developments, and the issues investors and states are increasingly confronting as they navigate this changing landscape.

This analysis reflects themes we see across our energy and mining arbitration practice and offers perspectives relevant to clients operating in mineral supply chains, energy transition projects, and resource-heavy jurisdictions.
