Reza Mohtashami KC will speak at a panel titled “On The Line: Where Courts Help and Hinder Arbitration”, as part of Riyadh International Disputes Week 2026.
This session will explore the evolving and often complex relationship between national courts and arbitral proceedings. Panellists will examine:
- Where judicial intervention strengthens arbitration
- Where it creates friction or delay
- How parties and counsel can navigate these issues in cross-border disputes
Reza will speak alongside Ali Ismael Al Zarooni (Horizons & Co Law Firm) and Greg Sibbald (CMS), with Aarta Alkarimi, C.Arb, FCIArb (Chrysalis LLP) moderating the session.

ABOUT REZA MOHTASHAMI KC
Reza is a partner in the London office. He has represented clients as counsel and advocate in more than 90 arbitrations conducted under a variety of arbitration rules in many different jurisdictions. Reza has particular expertise in disputes arising in emerging markets with a focus on the energy, financial services, telecoms, and infrastructure sectors.
