Nicola Peart, a senior associate at Three Crowns, will be a featured speaker in the upcoming webinar “International Courts: Legitimacy, Perception, and Outcomes” organized by the American Society of International Law (ASIL). This virtual discussion will examine how identity and diversity in international courts and tribunals influence courts’ opinions and address how the composition of international judicial benches can inform the content and legitimacy of their output. The event will take place on Friday 12 March at 12:00 – 1:30 pm EST (GMT – 5) and is co-hosted by ASIL’s International Courts & Tribunals Interest Group and the American Bar Association’s International Courts & Judicial Affairs Committee.

ABOUT NICOLA PEART
Nicola, an associate in the Washington, DC office, practices in all aspects of international dispute resolution. Her experience includes international commercial and investment treaty arbitration, as well arbitration under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and proceedings before the International Court of Justice. She also advises and represents parties in arbitration-related court matters, including before the UK Supreme Court.
Nicola is a member of the International Bar Association’s under-40 arbitration sub-committee, ArbitralWomen, and the ICCA Task Force on Gender Diversity in International Arbitral Appointments and Proceedings. She also acts as Legal Secretary to the International Tennis Federation’s Ethics Commission.
