Nicola Peart and Kimberly Larkin to speak at Columbia Law School’s webinar on international law and pro bono

Nicola Peart and Kimberly Larkin will be speaking at the “International Law and Pro Bono” webinar, hosted by Columbia Law School’s International Arbitration Association.

They will discuss their experience of pro bono in the context of international law, how pro bono work has benefitted their own professional development, and tips for how to build an international law pro bono practice.

The discussion will be followed by a Q&A and networking session.

The webinar will take place on Friday 21 January from 12:00 – 1:30pm ET (5:00 – 6:30pm GMT).

ABOUT  NICOLA PEART

Nicola, a senior associate in the Washington, DC office, practises in all aspects of international dispute resolution. Her experience includes international commercial and investment treaty arbitration, as well arbitration under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and proceedings before the International Court of Justice. She also advises and represents parties in arbitration-related court matters, including before the UK Supreme Court.

Nicola is a member of the International Bar Association’s under-40 arbitration sub-committee, ArbitralWomen, and the ICCA Task Force on Gender Diversity in International Arbitral Appointments and Proceedings. She has acted on a number of international law matters on a pro bono basis. Kimberly, an associate in the Washington, DC office, represents clients in international commercial and investment arbitrations across a variety of sectors, including the technology, energy, mining and natural resources, and financial services industries. She also regularly advises States and international non-governmental organisations on public international law issues, and maintains an active pro bono practice focused on human rights advocacy before U.S. courts and administrative agencies.

Kimberly is a recommended lawyer in The Legal 500 US 2021 and was recently named a “Rising ADR Star” by the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution.
