Luke Sobota will be speaking on the “Dispute Resolution Mechanisms in Bilateral Investment Treaties (BITs) and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs)” panel hosted by the Columbia Global Center, Santiago, Chile, which will take place on Thursday 15 July at 10:30am ET (-5 BST). The discussion will explore the main provisions, including the historical evolution, trends, and the difference between BITs and investment chapters in FTAs, as well as investors’ rights, such as fair and equitable treatment, protection from expropriation, full protection and security, and most favoured nations.
