Luke Sobota and Elizabeth Chan to speak at CPR International Conference 2021

Publications 28th September 2021

Luke Sobota and Elizabeth Chan will be speaking at the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR)’s International Conference 2021 on Wednesday 6 October.

Luke will be a speaker on the panel, “The Resolution of Complex Technology Disputes: What’s Next?”, in which the panellists will explore the ever-evolving topic of technology disputes and their resolution. As technology disputes become more complex, judges and juries are increasingly ill-equipped to understand and resolve them, leading to the wider adoption of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), which typically allows the parties to select mediators or arbitrators with the right background and experience. The discussion will take place from 11:00am – 12:15pm ET (-5 BST).

Elizabeth will be moderating the “How to Work Effectively with Your In-House Counsel” panel, presented by CPR’s Young Leaders in Alternative Dispute Resolution (Y-ADR). The discussants will look at ways in which young practitioners can gain visibility with clients (both in the context of a specific matter and more generally), understand clients’ commercial objectives, and win clients’ trust and confidence. The panel will take place from 12:30 – 1:45pm ET (-5 BST).
