Liz Snodgrass has recently authored an article, “Analysis of 2022 ICSID Rules and Regulations”, for LexisNexis, which looks at the amendments made to the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) rules and regulations for resolving disputes between foreign investors and host States.
The Rules and Regulations, which will come into force on 1 July 2022, include amendments designed to reduce the time and cost of ICSID proceedings, clarify the framework for the granting of provisional measures, and address transparency and third-party funding. Liz discusses the history of the project, the objectives of the amendments, and what this means for disputes going forward. She also provides thoughts on how they are likely to be received by practitioners and parties.
