Kathryn Khamsi to speak at AIEN / ICC Dispute Resolution in the Energy Business conference

Events 29th September 2025

Kathryn Khamsi will speak at a panel on the topic of “Boundary Disputes” at the AIEN/ICC Dispute Resolution in the Energy Business conference, organised by the Association of International Energy Negotiators (AIEN) and the ICC International Court of Arbitration.

Panellists will explore key issues relating to boundary delimitation disputes in South America and the Caribbean, delving into case studies of recent disputes, as well as discussing how investors can mitigate the risks arising from such disputes. Kathryn will share her insights alongside Robert van de Poll (Global Director Law of the Sea, Fugro) and Sandra González Vila (Partner, Ferrere Dispute Resolution), with Pedro Maciel (Partner, Lefosse) moderating the discussion.

The two-day conference will bring together global experts to discuss the legal, economic, and geopolitical challenges faced in the international energy industry. With a focus on historical cases, current disputes, and emerging trends, this forum provides valuable insights into conflict resolution in the energy sector.

The conference will take place from Thursday 2 October to Friday 3 October in Rio de Janerio, with Kathryn’s panel to be held at 11:15 am to 12:45 pm on 2 October.
