Carmen Martinez Lopez to speak on a panel “Jurisdictional and Procedural Issues in the Arbitration of Infrastructure Concessions” at ITA-ALARB Americas Workshop

Carmen Martinez Lopez will speak at a panel on the topic “Jurisdictional and Procedural Issues in the Arbitration of Infrastructure Concessions”, as part of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration (ITA) – Asociación Latinoamericana de Arbitraje (ALARB) Americas Workshop.

Carmen will share her insights alongside fellow panellists Ana María Ordoñez (Martinez, Quintero, Mendoza, González, Laguado & De La Rosa) and Gabriel Costa (Shell Brasil Petroleo Ltda.), with José Ricardo Feris (Squire Patton Boggs) moderating the discussion.

The workshop will be held from 12 to 13 September 2024 at the Park Hyatt, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Carmen’s panel will take place on Thursday 12 September from 11:30am to 12:30pm.

ABOUT CARMEN MARTINEZ LOPEZ

Carmen, a partner in the Madrid office, has appeared as advocate in numerous investment treaty and commercial arbitrations. She has handled arbitrations under the rules of the major arbitral institutions and ad hoc across a variety of jurisdictions, with a particular focus on Latin America and Spain. Carmen also sits as arbitrator.

Carmen serves in a variety of leadership positions, including as a Vice-President of the ICC Court of Arbitration, the President of the British Chapter of the Spanish Arbitration Club (Club Español del Arbitraje), a member of the Arbitrator Appointment Committee of the Madrid Arbitration Court, and a team leader for the IBA Task Force for the Revision of the 2010 IBA Rules on the Taking of Evidence.
