Elizabeth Chan, an associate in the London office of Three Crowns, will be co-hosting the first panel of the Equal Representation in Arbitration (ERA) Pledge series “Push for Parity: Practical Tools for Emerging Arbitrators.” The webinar takes place on Wednesday, 23 September at 1 pm BST/8 am EDT/2 pm CET. 

This first panel focusses on “Getting your first appointment – Insights from Institutions.”   The panellists, who are representatives of leading arbitral institutions, will share their knowledge of their respective appointment processes.

The four-part series aims to offer honest conversation, concrete advice, and answers to the hardest questions about succeeding as an arbitrator.  It will cover a variety of topics, from launching a career and securing a first arbitrator appointment to managing your first arbitration.  It has been developed by the ERA Pledge’s Young Practitioners Subcommittee.

ABOUT ELIZABETH CHAN

Chan specialises in international commercial and international investment treaty arbitration. She has represented both investors and States across various jurisdictions and has practised international arbitration London, New York, and Hong Kong.

Chan holds roles in several organisations focused on gender diversity, thought leadership in dispute resolution and prevention, and Asia, including as a Committee member of the Asia-Pacific Forum on International Arbitration, a board member of Arbitral Women, a member of the Equal Representation in Arbitration Pledge’s Young Practitioner’s Subcommittee, and Secretary to the European Advisory Board (EAB) for the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR).
