Blanca is an international associate in the Washington, DC office. She has experience representing clients in international commercial and investment treaty arbitrations conducted under the ICC, ICSID, UNCITRAL, and Bogotá Chamber of Commerce Arbitration Centre Rules. Her practice has focused on disputes involving States and State-owned entities across a range of sectors, including telecommunications, energy, oil and gas, infrastructure and construction, public utilities, entertainment, and post-M&A disputes.
Before joining Three Crowns, Blanca practiced international and domestic arbitration at a leading law firm in Bogotá for nearly six years. She advised and represented clients at all stages of arbitral proceedings. She also has experience in arbitration-related litigation before Colombian courts, including setting-aside, recognition and enforcement proceedings, and constitutional actions challenging domestic and international awards.
Blanca holds an LLM in International Legal Studies from Georgetown University Law Center, where she graduated with honors and was named an International Arbitration Scholar. She received her law degree from Universidad Externado de Colombia. While there, she participated in several international moot court competitions, receiving awards for her written and oral advocacy. She later coached the university’s Foreign Direct Investment Moot Court team and served as an adjunct professor of international arbitration. Blanca also holds a postgraduate degree in administrative law from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
