Three Crowns London office partner Reza Mohtashami KC has been appointed as a Member of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) Court, with effect from 20 May 2026. He joins as one of three new Court Members, alongside Carine Dupeyron (France) and Shashank Garg SA (India).
The LCIA Court is the final authority for the proper application of the LCIA Rules, appointing tribunals, determining challenges to arbitrators, and controlling costs. The Court is made up of up to 35 members, including the President of the LCIA Court, the Director General of the LCIA, and up to seven Vice Presidents. Court Members are appointed by the LCIA Board for renewable five-year terms, with the composition of the Court selected to maintain a balance of leading practitioners in commercial arbitration from across jurisdictions.
Reza Mohtashami KC comments: “I am honoured to join the LCIA Court. Having co-authored the first commentary on the LCIA Rules and worked with the LCIA in various capacities over many years, including as a past president of the Arab Users’ Council, I look forward to contributing to the Court’s work and to supporting the institution’s role at the forefront of international arbitration.”

ABOUT REZA MOHTASHAMI KC
Reza is a partner in the London office of Three Crowns. In his more than 25 years of practice, he has represented clients as counsel and advocate in arbitrations conducted under a variety of arbitral rules in many different jurisdictions. He also appears as an advocate before domestic and international courts in arbitration-related matters. Reza has previously practiced in Paris, New York and Dubai, where he established the Middle East dispute resolution practice of a leading international law firm. Reza is a qualified English solicitor-advocate and was appointed King’s Counsel in recognition of his advocacy skills in 2018.
