Todd Wetmore will speak on “Panel I: The Advocate’s Dilemma – When Confidence Becomes Overconfidence” at the 10th ICC European Conference on International Arbitration, during Paris Arbitration Week 2026.
This panel examines why even experienced advocates fall prey to overconfidence, how this affects client advice and case strategy, and what practical debiasing tools actually work in practice.
Todd will speak alongside Stephen Ruttle KC (Brick Court Chambers), Noradèle Radjai, (Lalive), Gauthier Vannieuwenhuyse, (TotalEnergies), with Claudia Salomon (President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration) moderating the session.
