Annette is an associate based in the London office. She has experience in international commercial and investment arbitrations under several institutional rules and across a range of sectors, including oil and gas, mining, banking, and agriculture.

Annette has particular experience in advising sovereign States and State-owned entities. She has also represented States and private corporations in setting aside and enforcement proceedings, and has advised individuals on potential applications to the European Court of Human Rights.

Prior to working in international arbitration, she advised companies in private M&A transactions.

Annette holds an LL.M. in International Business Regulation, Litigation and Arbitration from New York University, where she was a Fulbright scholar and Convocation Student Speaker of the LL.M. class. She also holds an LL.M. in European Law from Leiden University (cum laude), where she was awarded several academic awards for her thesis. Annette holds a Diploma in Legal Studies from the University of Oxford (distinction) and an LL.B. from Leiden University (cum laude). Annette speaks English and Dutch and has a working knowledge of French and Italian. She is admitted to the bar in the Netherlands.

Annette is a board member of the Netherlands Arbitration Institute young practitioners’ group (NAI40).
