Ryan is an international associate in the Singapore office. His experience includes advising clients in international commercial arbitrations and complex commercial litigation relating to construction, energy and M&A disputes. Ryan has been involved in proceedings under various institutional rules, including the ICC, LCIA, and SIAC rules, and before the Supreme Court of Singapore.

Ryan’s recent experience includes:

  • Acting for the owner of an Indonesian power plant in an ICC arbitration in a dispute with an EPC contractor and heavy equipment supplier consortium arising out of the development of the power plant
  • Acting for a global energy company in a dispute with its joint venture partner arising out of a power project in Asia
  • Acting for an Indonesian energy company and its subsidiary in a dispute arising out of a consortium shareholder agreement
    Acting for a Southeast Asian property developer in a nine-figure appeal before the Appellate Division of the Singapore High Court

Ryan obtained his B.A. from Trinity College, University of Cambridge, which he attended on a Singapore Armed Forces Overseas Scholarship awarded by the Government of Singapore.

Before joining Three Crowns, Ryan served in the military as a commando officer leading elite units in ground and airborne operations. He was also a policy officer in Singapore’s defence ministry advising the executive leadership on key national security issues and international defence policy, with a focus on the US-China geostrategic relationship.
